Act 32 - Local Tax Collection

Act 32 of 2008 ushers in significant reforms and consolidation of Pennsylvania’s earned income tax (EIT) collection system. Under Act 32, the current earned income tax collection process will be restructured, ultimately creating 69 countywide Tax Collection Districts (TCD). PICPA has worked diligently with legislators to develop and pass legislation that improves the business environment in Pennsylvania and will continue to work to implement this important legislation.

This streamlined local tax collection system will be more efficient, allowing revenues to be transferred more expediently. Uniform forms and procedures required by the legislation will add to consistent and uniform collection.
