Student Testimonials

Katherine Crawford—Drexel University
I agreed to participate in the program because I felt it was a good way to improve my relationship with the PICPA and meet other students leaders interested in the field of accounting. Being a PICPA Student Ambassador has been a great experience for me. It has helped me to be more aware of the events that PICPA offers which will be beneficial in the future as I will want to remain engaged with the PICPA. As a student ambassador, I have been better able to assist other accounting students on campus. I have been able to make them aware of events that can be beneficial to their careers and of scholarships that can make it easier to pay for college.

Dan Wagner—Penn State – Behrend
I agreed to participate in the PICPA Student Ambassador Program because I am the current President of the Penn State Behrend Accounting Club. As president, I bring speakers into our meetings to talk about topics that the students want to hear. Also, I am able to extend membership to PICPA and scholarship opportunities to the members of the Accounting Club. Being a PICPA Student Ambassador showed my future employer that I am responsible and a leader. Having the responsibility to promote an organization, headquartered in Philadelphia, in Erie demonstrated that I can handle job tasks while not being supervised directly. As a student ambassador, I was able to assist my fellow students by presenting speakers about relevant accounting topics. The students at Penn State Behrend were able to network with professionals in the accounting field. Networking with professionals is an excellent way to learn about the accounting profession and to show employers that as a student, I am mature and capable of working for your firm.
