Community Service Opportunities in Greater Philadelphia
On July 2, the Philadelphia Inquirer ran an op-ed by Jerry Maginnis, PICPA’s newly elected president, describing the contributions CPAs make to society. This story struck a chord with many nonprofits in the area who reached out to the PICPA to identify volunteer CPAs to help their cause. The following organizations are looking for a volunteer:

  • Chestnut Hill Historical Society
  • Coatesville National Army Guardsman
  • McNamee Scholars Program
  • Philadelphia Corporation for the Aging
  • YWCA Bucks County
View full details about the opportunities.

Volunteer Opportunity
Volunteers are needed by Career Wardrobe to sort work-suitable clothes for women who are trying to get back in the work place. August's clothing drive takes place on Wednesday, August 13, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the East Falls Presbyterian Church. Career Wardrobe takes place the second Wednesday at every month. There is no need to preregister. Contact John Campbell for more information.

Join a Chapter Committee
The best way to get involved is to join a committee in your chapter. Examples of committees are the Schools and Colleges Committee that helps inform the future of the profession, or the Emerging CPAs Committee that plans events in your area. View your choices and sign up for a committee today.
