PICPA Community Outreach programs educate the public about what CPAs do, provide financial literacy training to students and adults, and offer general financial advice. There are countless ways to get involved.

Speakers Bureau

• Sign up for media interviews, phone banks, tax clinics, and more.
• Speak to community groups and business organizations.
• Visit schools to promote the CPA profession.

Financial Literacy

• In today's current economic environment, consumers are more concerned about their finances than ever before. Find out what resources and programs are avaiable for CPAs to help with this important public service initiative.

Careers in Accounting Programs

• Visit area high schools and colleges to speak to students about what CPAs do and how to become a CPA.
• Teach students about financial literacy and smart money practices.
• Join the Relations with Schools and Colleges Committee to help plan student programs.

Advocacy Activities

• Key Person volunteers contact legislators to voice opinions about issues that affect the community and profession.
• Volunteers also testify before members of the legislature on behalf of the PICPA to ensure that policy makers consider the interests of accounting professionals when drafting and passing legislation.
• Join a PICPA legislative committee.
