A Message from President Joseph T. Kuvshinikov

As we prepare for the 2007/2008 PICPA chapter year many opportunities and challenges present themselves before us and the profession we represent.  During my year as president, I plan to work with the chapter leadership to build on foundations established and successes achieved by the chapter and its leadership in prior years.  The following areas will be emphasized:

  1. Recruiting new members from individuals who may or may not be CPAs.
  2. Actively encouraging emerging CPAs to become involved in chapter leadership.
  3. Building on the successes of both the high school & college/university outreach initiatives by expanding the programs to include more students from different educational institutions.
  4. Moving forward in the implementation of the 360 Degrees of Financial Literacy initiative.
  5. Providing programming that includes the members’ families.
  6. Instituting a “kudos” program to recognize members that go beyond the call of duty for the chapter or the community.
  7. Continuing to promote community service projects such as “Hooked on Books” and provision of pro bono accounting services to select nonprofit organizations.
  8. Seeking out new organizations with which to partner.
  9. Developing new co-sponsors for chapter initiatives and events.

Ultimately, I believe that these initiatives will provide our membership with opportunities to reflect our professional excellence and expertise to the community we serve.
