Greater Philadelphia Chapter Annual Meeting

More than 100 members and guests of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter assembled to honor their distinguished members and leaders at the Annual Meeting and Luncheon at the Loew’s Hotel in Philadelphia on May 3. Members met in the Loew’s Hotel lobby to mingle with colleagues during a cocktail hour prior to the meeting.

James J.  Newhard, chapter president, started the meeting by providing a year in review as well as thanking the chapter’s outgoing executive committee and leadership. After lunch, J. Andrew Weidman, president of PICPA,  performed the installation of the 2007-2008 Greater Philadelphia Executive Committee.  Michael A. Gillen, past president, presented John M. Fleming with the Greater Philadelphia Chapter 2007 Champion Award for his commitment to the institute, the profession, and the community. The Greater Philadelphia Chapter Volunteer Service Awards were awarded  to Leon A. LaRosa, Jr. and Nicholas J. Crocetti for their active participation in PICPA programs. Also honored, were those members who have reached 20, 30, 40, and 50 consecutive years of PICPA membership.  The chapter welcomed Deborah A. Bacon, who will serve as the chapter’s president for the 2007-2008 membership year.
