Greater Philadelphia Chapter Gives New Members a Warm Welcome

More Photos

Greater Philadelphia Chapter’s Member Services Committee launched a New Member Welcome Program to introduce new members to the chapter. The first event was a breakfast at the Conshohocken Marriott on July 26 which was a great success. Almost 40 members attended the continental breakfast and mingled and networked with colleagues, and met the newest members of the chapter. New members learned about all the benefits that PICPA and the Greater Philadelphia Chapter, can offer.

Steve Packer, Member Services Committee co-chair, welcomed the group and explained how PICPA involvement has benefited his life and career. Deborah Bacon, Greater Philadelphia Chapter president, spoke about the chapter’s committees and encouraged new members to become involved. James Newhard, Greater Philadelphia Chapter’s immediate past president, detailed all the events the chapter hosts each year, and suggested that new members attend upcoming events. Finally, Michael Colgan, PICPA executive vice president explained PICPA’s Government Relations program to the new members.

The morning came to a close when Committee Co-Chair James Seaman invited Emerging CPAs Committee Co-Chair Nick Willert to choose a winner of the free tickets to the upcoming Emerging CPAs Phillies night on Aug. 9. Mitchell Fink of Savran Benson in Bala Cynwyd was the lucky winner of two tickets to the event. The event was a great opportunity for new members to get connected and build their network within the chapter.

The Member Services Committee plans on holding another event like this in the future. Check the Greater Philadelphia home page in the coming months for more information.
