North Central Chapter Annual Meeting

On May 11, 2007, the North Central Chapter held its Annual Chapter Meeting and Casino Night at the Holiday Inn Williamsport. It was a night of ‘firsts’ for the chapter members. This was the first casino night and it was the first of the Volunteer Service Awards for the North Central Chapter.   

Members and their guests enjoyed networking cocktails and dinner. During the annual meeting, J. Andrew Weidman,  president of PICPA, swore in the new chapter leadership for 2007-2008.  Chapter President Michael G. Charles recognized outgoing executive committee members, committee members, and past presidents for their hard work and dedication to the chapter.  Romey D. Fagnano, incoming president, joined  Michael in honoring the chapter’s members who have reached 20, 30, 40, and 50 consecutive years of PICPA membership and the successful candidates who have passed the CPA exam. George F. Amerman was in attendance to receive his recognition for 40 years of membership with Life Member status. Adam P. Hartzel was congratulated for his successful completion of the CPA exam.

This year the chapter initiated a Volunteer Service Award recognizing the contributions and commitment of a chapter member volunteer. The recipient of the first North Central Chapter Volunteer Service Award was Brian W. Wingard. Brian has consistently gone above and beyond volunteer activities and has initiated new programs for the chapter and worked hard to enhance the image of CPAs.
 
After the meeting, the casino tables were rolled out as members tried their hand at poker, black jack, craps, and roulette. The evening ended with a raffle of prizes donated by the chapter.
