Pittsburgh Food Sorter’s Day

More photos

The Pittsburgh Chapter Community Involvement and Social Responsibility Committee had a great turnout for its annual Food Sorter’s Day at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank on Oct. 27, 2007.

The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank distributes approximately 18 million pounds of food each year to soup kitchens, shelters, senior high rises, Meals on Wheels, and much more. They depend on volunteers from organizations, such as PICPA, to help them sort the millions of pounds of food each year for distribution.

PICPA members and their families had a great time volunteering for a great cause. They also may have succeeded in starting a new fashion trend with those sweet hairnets (see the photo slideshow). Thanks to all who volunteered! Your time and effort is much appreciated!
