Members Volunteer at NBC Phone Banks in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia

Several PICPA members helped consumers with their tax returns this winter through tax phone banks at NBC affiliates in Pittsburgh (WPXI-TV) and Philadelphia (WCAU-TV). During an evening newscast at both stations, PICPA volunteers answered more than 1,000 phone calls combined from consumers who had questions about their tax returns.

PICPA received several plugs throughout both telecasts as viewers were encouraged to take advantage of this free opportunity. James J. Newhard, Greater Philadelphia Chapter president, was interviewed live about what consumers need to be aware of for the 2006 filing season.
