PICPA Welcomes its Newest Accounting Affiliates

PICPA members gathered to congratulate graduates and thank educators at the first Congrats to the Grad party at the Manayunk Brewery and Restaurant in Philadelphia on May 22, 2008.

The inaugural event was held to congratulate recent graduates and welcome them to the profession and to Accounting Affiliate membership. The graduates were formally introduced to all the benefits and leadership opportunities PICPA has to offer. Area accounting and business professors, who do so much for the students and the profession, were also invited to join in the celebration.

The Manayunk Brewery was a great place to celebrate. Guests were taken on a tour of the brewery which boasts many varieties of beer, all brewed on-site. The brew master taught the audience about each of the brewery's beers and all about the science behind it. After the tours, guests were invited to sample the beers and select their favorite.

Guests participated in a scavenger hunt that consisted of questions which could be answered by mingling with PICPA members and staff. The scavenger hunt cards were turned in at the end of the evening and were used to raffle off prizes. Winners of the drawing received Wawa and Target gift cards, as well as a gift from Becker CPA Review and a full scholarship from ExamMatrix.
