On Nov. 26 the chapter as a part of the Pittsburgh 250 Homecoming Weekend, will host its Thanks for Giving luncheon featuring Art Rooney II, president of Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Thanks For Giving luncheon will honor Myron Cope, highlighting what he has meant to Pittsburgh and all the work he did to support children and families in the region struggling with autism and mental retardation. With this in mind, the net proceeds of the luncheon will benefit the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and Allegheny Valley School.

Pittsburgh Steeler alumni will be introduced and will share Cope stories and anecdotes. All Steeler alumni and additional Pittsburgh sports figures have been invited. Elizabeth Cope, daughter of Myron Cope and honorary chair of the event, will also be in attendance.

Invite your clients and network with high level decision makers, and rub elbows with the Pittsburgh Steelers and other local celebrities!

Sponsorship will increase your firm or company’s visibility in the business community and promote awareness of the accounting profession all while supporting a good cause. There are several sponsor levels from which to choose, many include the option to host a Steeler alumnus or local broadcast celebrity at your lunch table.  Individual contributions are welcome and will be recognized in the event program.

The Great Hall at Heinz Field will be open during the luncheon.  Attendees can register to have a tour of the locker rooms and Great hall immediately preceding the luncheon.  All attendees will also receive the 2008 newly designed Terrible Towel!

The response from members, media, and the Steelers organization has been very positive, with WTAE already committing to be the official media sponsor.
