Government Relations

Pennsylvania State Board of Accountancy

Questions regarding Pennsylvania law and rules pertaining to the practice of public accountancy should be directed to the Pennsylvania State Board of Accountancy (SBOA). The SBOA:

  • Handles requirements for certification/licensure/reciprocity.
  • Provides information on the CPA exams and is able to verify if someone is certified/licensed in Pennsylvania.
  • Provides information to out-of-state firms seeking temporary permits.
  • Provides information on how an organization can become an approved CPE provider for Pennsylvania CPAs.
