E-mail Discussion Groups

E-mail Discussion Groups Offered by the PICPA

Several e-mail discussion groups are offered that cover a variety of topics. The following lists the available groups and some of the issues discussed:

  • Valuation, Litigation & Forensics – Discuss Business Valuations (IRS, Buy/Sell, etc.) and AICPA BV Standards (SSVS-1), Divorce Issues, Civil Litigation Issues (lost profits, damages, depositions, trial, etc.), Forensic Accounting in Civil and Criminal Investigations, and Bankruptcy Services.

  • Best Practices in Business & Industry—Formerly the Human Resources and Employment Issues group, these discussions have expanded to include a broader range of topics that appeal to professionals in Business and Industry. Join in on discussions on employee benefits, hiring, operations, risk management and more.

  • Practitioners - Designed to address areas related to practice management, including training programs from staff, billing software, insurance questions, and correspondence with clients.

  • Taxation - Includes exchanges about federal, state, local, corporate, and individual tax topics

  • Chapters - Two PICPA chapters, Greater Philadelphia and Southwestern, each host a discussion group designed to allow members from these chapters to discuss any topic of interest.
