Hatfield CPA Gives Audit Lectures to Gov. Agency, Nonprofit

PHILADELPHIA – Deborah A. Bacon, CPA, of Hatfield, Pa., presented a basics of governmental and nonprofit audits lecture to staff of the Administration of Children & Families (ACF) and Head Start at conferences in Philadelphia and Harrisburg.

Bacon first presented the lecture, on behalf of Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (PICPA) Speakers Bureau, on Nov. 9 in Philadelphia to staff of ACF. On Dec. 6, she made the presentation to administrators of Head Start programs at the Renewing the Head Start Spirit, 2006 Fall Conference in Harrisburg. Bacon, a certified public accountant, is a senior manager at BDO Seidman LLP in Philadelphia and is president-elect of PICPA’s Greater Philadelphia Chapter.

PICPA Speakers Bureau members make presentations on personal finance and business topics to various community, educational, and civic groups. Topics include saving for college, retirement planning, tax, budgeting, and accounting education.
