Local CPA Receives Award from Peers

ERIE, Pa. – Michael J. Bergquist, CPA, received a Joseph E. Sterrett Fellow Award from the Erie Chapter of Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).

Bergquist, who was honored at a reception at the Erie Club on Dec. 21, is a past president of PICPA’s Erie Chapter and widely considered a leader in corporate and community-service circles in the Erie area. He is a partner with Malin, Bergquist & Company LLP in Erie. In addition to the award recognition, a donation of $1,000 will be made in his name to the PICPA Scholarship Fund.

Sterrett was a PICPA founder and the organization’s first president. Honorees of the award which bears his name are individuals who have made significant contributions to PICPA and the CPA profession.
