Bucks County CPA Volunteers to Speak to College Students

PHILADELPHIA – Karen Facer-Mee, a certified public accountant in Ivyland, Pa., presented a money management seminar for college students at a program organized by Philadelphia Futures.

Facer-Mee made the presentation on behalf of Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (PICPA) Speakers Bureau. She spoke about the tax considerations of scholarships and grants, how to build and maintain credit, and how to evaluate employee benefit plans. Philadelphia Futures is a Center City-based organization that helps students from low-income families get into and succeed in college.

PICPA Speakers Bureau members make free presentations on personal finance and business topics to various community, educational, and civic groups. Topics include saving for college, retirement planning, tax, budgeting, and accounting education. Community group leaders can request a speaker by visiting www.picpa.org or by calling (888) 272-2001, ext. 365.
