Deceased Erie Resident Honored by PICPA

ERIE, Pa. – Scott E. Cousins, certified public accountant, was honored posthumously by Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) with the Joseph E. Sterrett Award.

Cousins, who died Aug. 28, 2006, worked for McGill, Power, Bell & Associates and was a member of PICPA’s Erie Chapter. He also was actively involved in the community. Patricia, Cousins’ wife, accepted the award in his honor at the chapter’s recent annual meeting. In addition to the award recognition, a donation of $1,000 was made in his name to the PICPA Scholarship Fund.

Sterrett was a PICPA founder and the organization’s first president. Honorees of the award that bears his name are individuals who have made significant contributions to PICPA and the CPA profession.
