Exeter Resident to Serve on PICPA Council

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Cynthia J. Chisarick, a certified public accountant from Exeter, Pa., was elected to a two-year term on Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (PICPA) Council at its annual meeting in State College. Her term on the governing body of PICPA will expire in 2009.

Chisarick is an associate professor of accounting in the Sidhu School of Business and Leadership at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. She is a past president of PICPA’s Northeastern Chapter and has served on PICPA’s Strategic Advisory Board. Chisarick started a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program on the Wilkes campus, in which her accounting students provide tax preparation assistance to low-income and elderly taxpayers. She was also the 2003 recipient of PICPA’s Outstanding Educator Award.

Chisarick earned a bachelor’s degree from Wilkes and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Scranton.
