Nicktown Resident Wins Volunteer Award from Pa. Nonprofit

ALTOONA, Pa. – Brenda A. Pawlowski, a certified public accountant, received a Volunteer Service Award from the Central Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).

Pawlowski, who was honored at the chapter’s annual meeting on April 24, received the award for outstanding service and demonstrated contributions to the chapter and PICPA through active participation in volunteer opportunities. She is a past president of the Central Chapter and has served on several PICPA committees, including Council, CPA Image Enhancement, and Relations with Schools and Colleges.

“It is an honor to be recognized by my fellow CPAs for the volunteering I have done,” said Pawlowski. “Speaking to high school students at the chapter’s Passport to Opportunity program at the Penn State-Altoona campus was probably one of the most rewarding events in which I participated. We were able to show students that an accounting career can be dynamic and rewarding.”

Pawlowski is a manager at Dennis P. Kotzan CPA in Johnstown.
