How Corporate CPAs Can Prepare for Future Success

By Maureen Renzi, vice president - communications

When the Pennsylvania CPA Journal Editorial Board convenes each spring, the meeting room walls are literally covered with intriguing story proposals. There are many more ideas promoted than there are pages in the magazine. Often, the topics that don’t fit the Journal for one reason or another still have great value, and they appear on our website in the form of blogs. One great topic idea that we had scheduled for a blog was a story on resources to help corporate CPAs succeed, in particular the robust resources available through the website for chartered global management accountants (CGMAs).

Screen shot from Jenkins's CGMA tutorialEd Jenkins, an Editorial Board member and PICPA representative on AICPA Council, volunteered to highlight the resources available to those with the CGMA designation. But as he started writing, he realized that a video tutorial of the website would be most helpful. You can view this video to get Ed’s insight into some very important information for the future success of corporate CPAs.

To find out more about CGMA resources and how to earn the designation, visit www.cgma.org. For background on how the AICPA and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) worked together to form their partnership and build CGMA resources, view this video.

In addition to his volunteer work with the PICPA and the AICPA, Ed is professor of practice in accounting (tax) at the Smeal College of Business of Pennsylvania State University and a tax consultant with Boyer & Ritter LLC.
