GP Crucial Concerns

  Accounting for the New Revenue Recognition and Lease Accounting Standards

Join the Greater Philadelphia Accounting and Auditing Committee for a CPE program at Gwynedd Mercy University. The new FASB Revenue Recognition and Lease Accounting Standards are expected to result in significant changes and complexities, with the road to implementation being more akin to a marathon rather than a sprint. The effective dates of these standards are fast approaching.

This program will provide attendees with the background and fundamentals to begin planning for the changes the new standards may require of businesses, including the considerations the new standards will have for tax specialists and practitioners.

Understanding the Legal and Professional Risks
for Failing to Disclose a Client’s Fraud

Montgomery Bar Association
Presented in cooperation with the Montgomery County Bar Association: Ira Pressman had a Ponzi Scheme and was convicted of fraud as a result. A bankruptcy trustee was appointed for his estate and Pressman hired litigators to sue the CPA firm for failing to disclose the fraud via willful blindness. In addition to updates on the case outcome this session will cover professional liability insurance, professional standards, as well as what red flags to look for when working with clients.

This programs qualifies for 3-Other and 1-Ethics credits.

Bucks County Takes Steps 5K Walk/Run for Crohn's & Colitis

Chapter members gathered for the annual walk/run at Bucks County Community College in Newtown on Oct. 1. Volunteers helped the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation staff coordinate the event by handing out prizes, distributing runners’ bibs, and processing day-of registrations. Thanks to our volunteers for showing that PICPA Cares.
