James Hunt is a Partner and Chairman of Arnett Carbis Toothman LLP’s Executive Committee, which governs policy and procedure for the Firm. James is also the Firm’s Coordinator of Health Care Services. During the past twenty‐three years with the Firm, James has worked with health care entities on a variety of financial and operational engagements. He has extensive experience in auditing health care entities and adding value throughout the audit process. In a related capacity, he serves as Vice President of Walker Benefits, LLC, retirement plan consultants.

His background includes providing services such as Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement consulting; auditing health care organizations, performing operational reviews focusing on improved efficiency; litigation support; for‐profit and not‐for profit tax issues; purchases/sales of health care organizations; evaluation of financing alternatives; evaluation of ancillary department efficiency; health care benchmarking studies; development of health care activity based costing systems; negotiating ancillary vendor contracts; auditing Corporate Compliance Programs; and acting as a member of the Independent Review Organization under Corporate Integrity Agreements.

James maintains extensive involvement with the various regulatory changes that impact the health care industry. He has used his in‐depth knowledge of the various regulatory issues in helping clients maximize profitability while maintaining compliance.

James is a graduate of Grove City College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He also represents the Firm as a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), LeadingAge PA ‐ An Association of Pennsylvania Not‐for‐profit Senior Services (formerly panpha), a Business Associate of the Hospital Council of Western Pennsylvania (HCWP), and the Pennsylvania Health Care Association (PHCA). He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), and various other professional and industry associations. James has conducted numerous speaking engagements relative to health care finance for state health care associations and state CPA societies and has written articles for local and national publications.
