H. Richard Haverstick, Jr.
Rich spent most of his professional career with EY, one of the largest
professional services firms in the world. Rich served in a variety of
leadership roles at EY, including Managing Partner of the Philadelphia Office,
Banking Industry Leader for the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions of the United
States and Partner-in-Charge of Human Resources for the Mid-Atlantic region.
Throughout his career with EY, Rich led many teams providing assurance and
advisory services to publicly held companies with domestic and international
operations.
Currently, Rich is a board member and chairs the audit committee of
Brandywine Realty Trust (NYSE: BDN) and the BMT Multi-Cap Fund (“BMTMX”)
sponsored by The Bryn Mawr Trust Company. Rich was a board member and served on
the audit committee of Actua Corporation (NASDAQ: ACTA) until February 2018
following its delisting under the shareholder-approved plan of dissolution
recommended by the board.
Rich is also a trustee of Jefferson, which is comprised of Thomas Jefferson
University and Jefferson Health, where he is a member of the Executive Committee
of the board, chair of the Finance Committee, vice-chair of the Compensation and
Human Capital Committee and the former chair of the Audit, Risk and Compliance
Committee.
Over his career, Rich has held board positions with many civic organizations,
including the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Philadelphia
CEO Council for Growth, the Greater Philadelphia First Corporation, the
Philadelphia Bar Foundation, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the
American Red Cross, the Philadelphia Arts and Business Council, Movement Theatre
International and the PenJerDel Council. Rich served as President, the youngest
in chapter history, of the 6,500-member Philadelphia Chapter of the Pennsylvania
Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Rich is chair of the Temple University Fox School Accounting Advisory Board
and a member of the Dean’s Council of the Fox School. Rich was honored by
Temple University’s Fox School Accounting Department in 2014 with the Excellence
in Service Award, and with the Beta Alpha Psi Outstanding Alumnus Award in 2013
and 2000. Rich was inducted into the Fox School Gallery of Success in 2006 and
delivered the commencement address at the Fox School Graduate Degree ceremony in
January 2009, and the Undergraduate Degree ceremony in January
2002.
