Bucks Knocks Out Hunger, United Way of Bucks County’s signature hunger fighting event, will be held on Friday June 21nd this year at Bucks County Community College in Newtown. In addition to engaging over 600 volunteers to pack 125,000 meals for the seventh year in a row, BKO Hunger will raise thousands of dollars to provide fresh local produce and dairy products to pantries. These types of nutrient rich foods mean that food insecure families don’t just stave off hunger, they can eat healthy, enriching meals to help them heal and grow.
This is the fifth year that the Greater Philadelphia Chapter has sent a team of volunteers to assist in this event. We have reserved 14 slots for members to pack meals on an assembly line in the Gymnasium at Bucks County Community College in Newtown, Pa.
Meet other PICPA members outside the auditorium at 8:30 a.m. The actual packaging and packing will take place from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Start your weekend early with this volunteer opportunity with your fellow CPAs. View photos from last year’s volunteer event.
Please RSVP by Monday, June 10th.
