TERRY WELFORD
Terry Welford has over thirty
years of experience in the training and development field. She has held training
positions with Fortune 500 companies and higher education and founded her own
consulting firm, The Welford Group, in 2002. She began her career as a trainer
with Philip Morris and moved on to positions in training and human resources
with Air Products and SmithKline Beecham.
Terry's most recent position was
Director of Training and Professional Development for Villanova University. She
is an adjunct faculty member in Villanova's division of Part-Time Studies and
teaches the Foundations of Leadership course for the B.S. degree in Leadership
Studies. As a trainer/consultant, Terry designs and facilitates a wide variety
of training and development programs, workshops and seminars. Her training
programs are designed to be interactive, and are conducted in a manner that
honors different learning styles and adult learning preferences. The focus of
each program is on real-world situations and practical application. Topics
include: Management and leadership skills, such as Coaching, Giving Recognition,
and Delegation; Communication skills such as Effective Listening, Giving
Constructive Feedback, Conflict Resolution, and Effective Presentations;
Resource Management skills, such as Time Management, Stress Management, Managing
Change, and Goal Setting; Customer Service; Team Building; Motivation and
Attitude.
Terry also provides clients with
executive coaching and team building services. Terry has a Masters Degree in
Human Resources from Cornell University. She is a certified Training Director
(Langevin Learning Services), and is a certified facilitator for Achieve Global
(formerly known as Zenger Miller). She is also a qualified Myer-Briggs
practitioner. She is a member of the Greater Valley Forge Human Resources
Association, the Philadelphia Society for People & Strategy, the Healthcare
Businesswomen’s Association, the Women’s Business Forum and the Main Line
Chamber of Commerce.
