Responsible for design, administration, and consulting of 401(k), 403(b), 457(b) and traditional pension plans for private, public and governmental employers. 

He is an enrolled actuary with the Joint Board of the Enrollment of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a Certified Pension Consultant, and a Fellow of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.

Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, Northwest Savings Bank Investment and Trust Services

Don Nicholson serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for Northwest Trust Services. Don is responsible for the development and implementation of investment strategy and is responsible for communication of strategy within the department and to clients. He is also responsible for the development and implementation of the portfolio construction process across all managed portfolios.

Don is Chair of Northwest's Trust Investment Committee and of the Investment Strategy Committee, which is responsible for the development of investment strategy, policy and procedures. He also serves as a vital member of the Trust Management Committee.

Don has more than 25 years of experience in Trust and Investment Management. Prior to joining Northwest, Don worked in Mellon Bank's Private Asset Management Division in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Don is a member of the CFA Institute. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst Charter holder since 2000 and he graduated from the University of California, Davis, CA, B.S., Statistics, in 1992. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Multicultural Community Resource Center, Erie, Pennsylvania, as well as, on the Advisory Board, Finance School, Black School of Business, Penn State Erie’s Behrend Campus.
