Alyssa has more than five years of experience in public accounting, providing auditing and other business advisory services. Prior to joining Schneider Downs & Company, Inc., she worked at a national public accounting firm as an external auditor performing audits for both public and private clients in the financial services industry. Additionally, she spent time as a research and writing analyst in which she made contributions to several financial services industry publications. Alyssa is responsible for performing a wide range of business advisory services, including assisting with forensic accounting and due diligence engagements, as well as completing valuations for companies in a variety of industries.

Shane is a Senior Manager in the Audit and Assurance Services Department with 8 years of experience providing service to not-for-profit, higher education, engineering, and manufacturing clients, as well as conducting audits of employee benefit plans.  He provides accounting and assurance services to his client base which includes planning and managing the execution of the firm’s accounting and auditing approach, gaining an understanding of client and industry risks, oversight of the preparation and review of the financial statements, and advising the clients on the application of technical accounting matters.  He is a member of the AICPA and PICPA.  Shane graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Brian is a Senior Manager in the Audit and Assurance Services Department with more than 10 years of experience in public accounting.  A Robert Morris University graduate, his responsibilities are to provide clients with audit and assurance services, and assistance with routine and complex transactions on a daily basis.  His experience includes clients from a variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, retail and not-for-profit entities and sizes, including start-ups and public filing entities.  He is a member of the AICPA and PICPA and a member of Schneider Downs & Co., Inc. Manufacturing Industry Group.

Gary is a Senior within the Risk Advisory Services team at Schneider Downs & Co. Inc. Gary has 8 years of IT Risk Management experience, including 3 years of Sarbanes Oxley, SOC 1, SOC 2 and Cyber Security based testing.  Gary has recently assisted several clients in SOC 1 and SOC 2 testing, in addition to assisting multiple clients perform maturity assessments against the NIST Cyber Security Framework.  Gary's IT general control skills include security, change management, application controls, backup and recovery, third-party risk assessments, cybersecurity, end-user applications, identifying key reports, and application process reviews. Gary graduated from St. Vincent College with a degree in Computer and Information Sciences and holds the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification.

Dave is a Manager within the Risk Advisory Services team at Schneider Downs & Co. Inc.  Dave has 15 years of IT general controls experience, including 12 years leading, testing, and reviewing Sarbanes Oxley IT general controls.  Dave has recently assisted several clients in Sarbanes Oxley readiness, SOC 1, and SOC 2 reviews documenting IT process control narratives, risk and control matrices, and IT control gaps.  Dave’s IT general control skills include security, change management, application controls, backup and recovery, third-party risk assessments, cybersecurity, end-user applications, identifying key reports, and application process reviews.  Dave graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Management Information Systems and holds the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certifications.

He has significant experience in a wide range of practice areas including fraud investigation, forensic accounting, litigation support, and valuation. His engagements have involved clients in a variety of industries including governmental, manufacturing, retail, banking, not-for-profit, insurance, waste management, and construction. Steve’s clients have ranged from small, closely held businesses to large publicly traded multinational companies.
