Greater Philadelphia Chapter Women of the PICPA Committee Presents: Strive! Achieve! Just Take a Mom

Ms. Basso has been involved for many years with the PICPA's Personal Financial Planning Committee and is the Immediate Past Chairperson. She is a frequent speaker and is actively involved in presenting financial literacy programs such as the PICPA's Money & Life and Take it to the Bank programs. Working with the PICPA she prepared a retirement planning curriculum for the Women's Oppurtunity Resource Center (WORC), Philadelphia PA. She has been a multi-year presenter at the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA) and University of the Arts annual tax education workshops for its students in Philadelphia, PA, and has presented financial literacy programs for the Chester County Library. She has appeared on the NBC10 Money School with Tracy Davidson, the CBS3 Investment and Tax Phone Banks and Mary and Money with the award winning Mary Caraccioli.

Elizabeth has more than 21 years of experience in all phases of client service. Her experience in auditing and consulting includes serving a wide variety of not-for-profit and tax-exempt organizations, including social service organizations, cultural organizations, membership associations, and private foundations. Elizabeth is experienced in performing audits in accordance with certain federal, state, and local requirements, as well as engagements requiring certain compliance and programmatic reporting. She works with clients on accounting for endowments, contributions, and government funding;  valuating internal control procedures; and implementing various recommendations for improved policies and increased efficiencies.

Elizabeth is one of the region’s leaders in educating not-for-profits. She has presented on various industry hot topics, including accounting practices and internal controls, restricted funds, Form 990 reporting and compliance, financial management, governance issues, and fraud. Elizabeth was a key presenter at the PICPA’s 2017 Not-for-Profit Conference addressing the new revenue  recognition standard and its impact on not-for-profits, and has also presented to the national Public Media Business Association (PMBA) on best practices for not-for-profit organizations and various accounting updates. She is a frequent contributor and speaker for The Nonprofit Center at La Salle University’s School of Business’ educational programs.

Elizabeth joined Kreischer Miller in November 2016. Prior to working for Kreischer Miller, Elizabeth was an Assurance Director at BDO USA, LLP in Philadelphia, PA, where she was the co-leader of BDO Philadelphia’s Nonprofit and Education Industry Group.

Jenise E. Musselman, CPA

Jenise Musselman is currently the Finance Lead for Project Denali at AmeriGas Corporation. AmeriGas Partners, L.P. is a publicly traded master limited partnership (NYSE: APU). We are the nation's largest retail propane marketer, serving approximately 1.8 million customers in all 50 states from approximately 1,900 distribution locations. We conduct our business principally through our subsidiary AmeriGas Propane, L.P.  UGI Corporation, through subsidiaries, is the sole General Partner and owns 26% of the Partnership.

Jenise joined UGI Corporation in August 2010 as an Internal Audit Supervisor, and moved to the role of ERM Program Manager in 2011. She then transitioned to AmeriGas, a subsidiary of UGI Corporation in 2012 as the Manager of Cost Accounting. In 2014 she gained additional responsibility as the Director of Cost Management and Inventory Control, overseeing propane inventory, cost of goods sold, and hedging activities of AmeriGas. In 2016, AmeriGas began to embark on a journey to transform the operational and financial system architecture. Jenise took the role of Director of Finance Business Transformation to assist the organization in preparing for the transformation. Starting in May of 2018, Jenise assumed the role of Finance Controlling Lead for the first phase of Project Denali, which consists of migrating financial processes from the existing PeopleSoft platform to SAP.

Prior to AmeriGas, she was a Manager at CliftonLarsonAllen providing audit and assurance services to privately owned companies, with a concentration in the manufacturing industry. Jenise is a Certified Public Accountant registered with the State of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the mentor committee within the Women’s Impact Network (WIN) at AmeriGas. Jenise and her husband Jon enjoy mentoring engaged couples to prepare them for marriage at their local church, and facilitate studies on parenting, faith and other impact topics. Their family life is eventful with two young children, Jack and Evelyn, and dogs Lynus and Lola. Jenise holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Eastern University.
