Who doesn’t want to save thousands of dollars in taxes? Sometimes employers try to avoid paying employment taxes, workers compensation premiums, and unemployment insurance premiums by designating their workers as Independent Contractors rather than as employees. While doing so can potentially save employers substantial amounts of money, an improper classification can, in turn, be financially devasting.
