Twenty-one members of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter, along with help from interns at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP, taught an interactive financial literacy program to nearly 500 inner-city high school students interning with the Philadelphia Youth Network’s (PYN) WorkReady Program on July 20 at Thomas Jefferson University.
The Work Ready interns were taught how to identify and write financial goals, fix an overspent budget, and build a budget of their own that they can use for the summer.
If you are interested in teaching opportunities like PYN’s Work Ready, check out our Inspire Future CPAs program and establish a partnership with a school. The PICPA has PowerPoint presentations and worksheets available to you, as well as many other resources.
