Diversity Initiatives

The U.S. Census Bureau reports that one in three residents is a minority. By 2044, minorities will become the majority of the U.S. population. The PICPA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Steering Committee recognizes the urgent business case for diversity and is committed to the recruitment, retention, and development of minority CPAs.

  The Pennsylvania CPA Foundation offers scholarships specific to minority and underserved populations.

• AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students
  This program provides awards to outstanding minority students to encourage their selection of accounting as a major and their ultimate entry into profession.

• AICPA’s Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students
  The AICPA offers fellowships to full-time minority accounting scholars who demonstrate significant potential to become accounting educators.

• NABA Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP)
  ACAP seeks to build awareness among high school students from underrepresented ethnic groups of accounting and business career opportunities.

• NABA National Scholarship Program
  NABA offers 40-70 national scholarships annually, ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.
