Higher Education Teaching Opportunities for CPAs

Jerry spent 36 years with the Philadelphia office of KPMG.  As an audit partner, he served clients in a variety of industries. In 2002, he was promoted to the Partner in Charge of Audit for KPMG’s Pennsylvania Business Unit. In 2006, he became the Philadelphia Office Managing Partner, continuing in that role until his retirement from the Firm in 2015.

Jerry holds leadership role on several boards, including inTEST Corporation (NYSE: INTT), a publicly traded technology company, where he serves as the Audit Committee Chair and the Cohen & Steers Mutual Fund Complex, where he also serves as Chair of the Audit Committee.
Cohen & Steers is a global investment manager based in New York City with assets under management approximating $37 billion. He is a Past President of the PICPA, past chair of the Pennsylvania CPA Foundation Board, and current chair of the Foundation Development Committee. Jerry also serves as “Executive in Residence” at Rowan University in New Jersey, working closely with the Business School Dean and Accounting Department Chair to help prepare students for their transition from college to the workforce.

Jerry earned a B.S. in Accounting from St. Joseph’s University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Carlo Silvesti, MBA, CPA

Carlo Silvesti CPA, MBA, CGMA served as a CFO and Chief Financial Officer for several mid-size privately held businesses for 35 years. He joined the faculty as an Associate Professor of Accounting at Gwynedd Mercy University 15 years ago. His teaching assignments include Intermediate I, II, III, Managerial Accounting, Auditing/Fraud. During his time at Gwynedd, he helped develop a CPA track, 150-hour program a student could complete in 4 years. Carlo developed the SEPCHE Accounting and Finance Career Fair held each September, and monitors the Internship program. He serves as Program Director for Accounting and Finance. Carlo received the Linback award as the University’s outstanding educator in 2016.

He is past President of the PICPA’s Philadelphia Chapter. Carlo presently serves on PICPA’s Foundation Board and the Board of St John Vianney. On the St. John Vianney Board, he is the Treasurer.

Carlo earned his BS in Accounting at St Joseph’s University, and his MBA at Temple University.

Martin C. Levin CPA, CVA, MBA

Managing Director, Regan Levin Bloss Brown & Savchak PC

Martin C. Levin began his accounting career in private industry in 1976.  In 1987, he joined the audit staff in the Philadelphia office of Coopers & Lybrand. Martin relocated to the Lehigh Valley and in 1995, he founded the Allentown based firm Levin, Savchak & Associates, P.C. which has since merged to form Regan Levin Bloss Brown & Savchak, P.C. (“RLB Accountants”) where he serves as the firm’s managing director and supervises the Firm’s audit, accounting business valuation and forensics practice groups.

Martin’s accounting and auditing includes working with clients in various industries including general and specialty contractors, technology firms, wholesale distribution companies, auto dealerships, manufacturing enterprises, professional services firms, mortgage brokerage firms and real estate management companies. In addition, he provides management consulting services to clients including business valuation, forensic accounting, bankruptcy accounting and expert witness testimony.

Martin is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“AICPA”), the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“PICPA”) and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Martin currently serves on the AICPA Professional Ethics Enforcement Committee and is the president-elect of the PICPA. He has previously served on several prominent committees including a three (3) year term on the Accounting and Review Services Committee of the AICPA, the senior standard setting body responsible for developing the rules for unaudited financial statements issued in the United States. He is a past president of the PICPA - Lehigh Valley Chapter, has served on the Lehigh Valley PICPA Executive Committee and the PICPA State Council. He also served as PICPA President for the 2019-20 year.

In 2008, Martin was appointed by Governor Ed Rendell to serve on the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania State Board of Accountancy, where he served for 8 years under 3 governors including his role as chairman of the state licensing board for the two year period 2014-2015. Martin is a certified valuation analyst and is a member in good standing of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. He has served as an adjunct professor of accounting at DeSales University, Kutztown State University and Muhlenberg College. Martin is a member of the DeSales University President’s Council, Treasurer of the Carson Kaye Foundation and serves on various fundraising committees for nonprofit organizations. Martin has been a frequent guest lecturer at colleges and universities throughout Pennsylvania.

Martin is a summa cum laude graduate of Rowan University with a B.S. in Accounting and earned a Master’s Degree in Finance from DeSales University. He holds licenses to practice as a certified public accountant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth of Virginia and the State of Florida. Martin and his wife reside in the Lehigh Valley.

Cory Ng is an Associate Professor of Instruction and the Undergraduate Program Coordinator in the Department of Accounting at Temple University.  He also serves as the faculty advisor to the Fox Accounting Association.  Cory earned his Doctor of Business Administration degree from Wilmington University, his MS in Accounting from Drexel University, and his BS in Economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.  He is also a licensed CPA in Pennsylvania and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.  Professor Ng has received awards for teaching, research and service, including the Master of Accountancy Faculty of the Year Award, the Translational Research Award for Excellence in Practice Research, and the Accounting Student Professional Organization Award.  He promotes the public interest of the accounting profession through his service on the editorial board of the Pennsylvania CPA Journal, the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and the chair of the PICPA's Technology Task Force.

Luigi Corrado, Jr., CPA, MT is the founder of CAA Consulting, where he provides advisory services to clients in a wide range of industries with a focus on real estate, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and private equity. Prior to consulting, he spent seven years as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte, followed by eight years in the real estate field. In addition, Luigi has served as an adjunct professor at Temple University teaching Accounting Information Systems. 

Luigi received his B.S. in Business Administration, with majors in Accounting and Management Information Systems, from LaSalle University, as well as his Masters of Taxation from Villanova University School of Law. A Certified Public Accountant licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, he is also a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). 

Cynthia (Cindy) Planita, MST, CPA, CGMA is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Arcadia University in Glenside, PA. At Arcadia Cindy teaches Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Intermediate Accounting I and II for undergraduates, and Business Fundamentals II in the MBA program. She serves as the faculty advisor for Delta Mu Delta, the business honors society, and the Society for the Advancement of Business Administration (SABA). Cindy also previously taught as a full-time Instructor and an Adjunct Professor at La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to teaching, Cindy spent over a decade in the corporate tax field, working at Ernst & Young LLP, Jones Apparel Group, and Johnson & Johnson. She earned her M.S. in Taxation from Philadelphia University and her B.S. in Accounting from La Salle University. She is a member of the Executive Committee for the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), she is a member of the school board at Blessed Trinity Catholic School, where she serves as chair of the Finance Committee, and she serves as the Treasurer of the Home and School Association at both Blessed Trinity and St. Hubert Catholic High School.
