  • Certified public accountants (CPAs)
  • Non-CPAs working in the profession
  • Accounting educators at the college and high school levels
  • College students majoring in accounting or a related field

PICPA Membership Categories

A Category for Every Step of Your Career

Our membership year runs May 1 through April 30. Half-year rates are offered beginning Nov. 1 through Jan. 31. Some employers will pay for your PICPA membership. If you need help convincing them, download this explanation letter.

 

Student & Pre-CPAs

Student Affiliate

A full-time college student, majoring in accounting or a related field.

Accounting Affiliate

A recent graduate (past five years) with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting (or a related field) and who is working toward obtaining his/her CPA license.

Candidate For Admission

A candidate who has passed all four parts of the CPA Exam but has not yet received a CPA license.

 

CPAs & Retired CPAs

CPA Member

A CPA, in any state, regardless of license status (active or expired).

Nonresident Member

A CPA who is licensed in Pennsylvania and neither resides nor is employed in Pennsylvania.

CPA Educator

A CPA who works in the accounting field, has a bachelor’s degree, and is a full-time faculty member at an accredited college or university, or a high school teacher of accounting, business, or a related discipline.

Retired Member

Any CPA Member or Nonresident CPA Member who is neither working nor seeking employment may request a transfer to Retired Membership. Email membership@picpa.org.

 

Non-CPAs

Associate Educator

A non-CPA who works in the accounting field, has a bachelor's degree, and is a full-time faculty member at an accredited college or university, or a high school teacher of accounting, business, or a related discipline.

Associate Member

A non-CPA who has a bachelor's degree and works in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Former Members & Reactivations

Applications for membership reactivation should be submitted with dues for the year in which reactivation becomes effective. Memberships that have lapsed for nonpayment may be subject to a reinstatement fee of $50, and may be subject to additional sums due to the Institute at the time of membership lapse.
