PICPA members volunteered for the tenth year running during Attitude of Gratitude at Westmoreland County Food Bank. The food bank feeds 18,000 individuals from Westmoreland County each month. 2024 IMPACT Summit attendees had a day packed with learning, networking, and growth. Those who attended learned leadership skills for success, made valuable connections, and gained insight on how to build strong, lasting client relationships.
Our 2024 Cross-Professions Networking Nights were a success! Held in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, attendees got the chance to network and connect with like-minded professionals, including CPAs, attorneys, bankers, and more. These events will return for 2025, so check back soon.
The Pennsylvania CPA Foundation's Accounting Career Day events are engaging and interactive programs meant to inspire high school students about careers in accounting. Held on four Pennsylvania college campuses, the events attracted nearly 1,000 attendees this year. When surveyed, 66% of participants left considering an accounting major, and nearly half are now thinking about a future career as a CPA.

More than 400 people participated in the 37th Annual PICPA Volleyball Tournament in July. Congratulations to EMC for its win in the noncompetitive bracket and to Maher Duessel for its victory in the competitive bracket!
The "state of the union" information regarding the PICPA and the industry as a whole was very interesting. The emphasis on the soft skills important for success was very telling, and the exercises were very enjoyable.
This event has given me a different perspective on the field of accounting, and its room for growth as a career.
