David Stonesifer

Herbein + Company Inc. | CEO | Reading

David Stonesifer, CPA, is a leader who is no stranger to dealing with change and challenges. His experience and reputation as a problem solver will help move PICPA forward. As the chief executive officer of Herbein + Company Inc., Stonesifer says actively listening has strengthened his problem-solving capabilities and instilled a sense of ownership and commitment to the issues surrounding the accounting profession and CPAs. He looks to bring that insight to leading the PICPA in perhaps its most challenging time in a generation.

“My predecessors have all set fantastic examples of advocating strong and loud on behalf of the tens of thousands of CPAs in Pennsylvania. I look forward to continuing that legacy of representing CPAs and building a better and stronger profession,” said Stonesifer.

Stonesifer began his career as an intern in the tax department with Herbein + Company in 1995, becoming the first intern to rise to partner status. He was named partner in 2008 and throughout his tenure has served as the head of college recruitment, Interim Chief Operating Officer, and held positions on the Executive Committee. In October 2019, he was appointed Managing Partner, and has since been appointed CEO.

“We are lucky to have Dave as a member of our leadership team. He understands today’s challenges, is widely recognized as a leader who gets things done, and tirelessly fights for CPAs’ seat at the table,” said Jennifer Cryder, CEO of PICPA.

Dave feels strongly about serving our local community and increasing the visibility of the CPA as a true business leader within firms and corporations. From serving on the PA State Board of Accountancy, the board of Greater Reading Young Professionals (GRYP), and as President of the Reading Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), to serving on national committees for trade organizations, Dave has risen to meet every challenge.
