By Megan Killian, PICPA vice president - member relations
The PICPA has been hosting a monthly town hall series featuring top thought leaders from the profession and the business community. In case you’ve missed any of them, I wanted to highlight the critical areas covered during these programs. If you’re interested in this great content, recordings of each have been posted online for noncredit viewing.
Barry Melancon, AICPA CEO, provided a professional issues update covering everything from how the pandemic has affected the profession to ongoing talent and pipeline issues.
*This program is also included our On Demand complimentary CPE offerings for CPE credit.
David Kessler, CohnResnick CEO, and Risa Levine, chief of staff, shared what their firm is doing to create a diverse and inclusive firm. They provided personal narratives, strategies, and practical tips on how firms of all sizes can address this important topic.
Patrick Harker, Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia president, and Ryo Tishiro, regional economic advisor, discussed the economic impact of the pandemic on businesses, consumer behaviors, and what we can expect in the short term as well as a longer-term outlook.
Author, columnist, and business expert Gene Marks covered the issues, challenges, and strategies to grow your business over the next two years. With his usual humor and energy, Gene shared the key metrics all busines leaders should be looking at and following, the new administration policies, where the economic downturn has created opportunities, and what to expect as we move into 2021.
We are excited to bring you more thought leadership town halls in the new year. Stay tuned for more details in the weeks ahead. Please comment below with topics and speaker suggestions that you would like us to consider for 2021.
