Ms. Midkiff is a Managing Director at Smart Devine (formerly
known as Nihill & Riedley, PC) a forensic accounting firm located in
Philadelphia, PA. Ms. Midkiff specializes in forensic accounting and litigation
services. Ms. Midkiff is responsible for management, development and analysis of
various accounting, auditing and financial cases, generally involving matters
under litigation. Matters have included evaluation of economic losses, employee
dishonesty investigations, preparation of fidelity bond claims, financial
investigations to pierce the corporate veil, conflict of interest and ethics
investigations, and evaluation of internal controls and compliance with
professional accounting standards. She regularly provides assistance to
attorneys in analyzing records and interviewing witnesses in connection with
civil and criminal matters and internal investigations. Ms. Midkiff has
testified numerous times as an expert witness including in veil piercing cases.
Additionally, she has published various articles on Fraud and frequently
lectures on Fraud and Fraud Prevention and Detection.
She received her B.S. in Accounting from Rutgers, The State
University of New Jersey where she graduated with highest honors. Ms. Midkiff is
a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and is
Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF). Additionally, she currently serves as
Treasurer of 1812 Productions (Philadelphia’s All Comedy Theatre) and is a
member of the Parent Association Advisory Council at George Washington
University.
