Don Nicholson serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for Northwest Trust Services. Don is responsible for the development and implementation of investment strategy and is responsible for communication of strategy within the department and to clients. He is also responsible for the development and implementation of the portfolio construction process across all managed portfolios.

Don is Chair of Northwest's Trust Investment Committee and of the Investment Strategy Committee, which is responsible for the development of investment strategy, policy and procedures. He also serves as a vital member of the Trust Management Committee.

Don has more than 25 years of experience in Trust and Investment Management. Prior to joining Northwest, Don worked in Mellon Bank's Private Asset Management Division in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Don is a member of the CFA Institute. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst Charter holder since 2000 and he graduated from the University of California, Davis, CA, B.S., Statistics, in 1992. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Multicultural Community Resource Center, Erie, Pennsylvania, as well as, on the Advisory Board, Finance School, Black School of Business, Penn State Erie’s Behrend Campus.

Dennis is responsible for administration of employee benefit plans, pension plans, institutional clients and Individual retirement account clients in Northwest’s Erie and Northwest regions.  He performs a variety of duties including business development, employee education, account administration, and client relationship management. Dennis entered the industry in 2009 as a financial advisor and joined Evans Capital Management in 2011 where most of his portfolio involved retirement plans.  In 2014 their firm was acquired by Northwest where he became part of the Trust Department with Employee Benefits.  Denny has a background in human services, both secular and religious. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. Denny holds the professional credential of Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) from the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA).
