Excel is the #1 data analysis tool for accountants. Yet many accountants have never learned the basics of data analysis using Excel or the tools that Excel offers to help with data analysis.
This session is an introduction to the tools available in Excel to perform data analysis. It is part of our PowerBI series, so that you can learn how Excel can be used to perform data analysis before you start using the PowerBI tools. The focus is on what might need to be done with your data once it is in Excel. You will learn how to use various techniques to cleanse your data by removing errors and validating and standardizing data. You will also learn some basic data analysis features like sorting, subtotaling, database functions and math functions. This will provide a foundation for using Pivot Tables to analyze data.
Our focus is on how and why you should use PivotTables but is not meant as a step-by-step guide on creating PivotTables and using all the options. Please attend the "Excel - Using PivotTables for Data Analysis" course for step-by-step instructions.
This event may be a rebroadcast of a live event and the instructor will be available to answer your questions during the event. Highlights
