What are the benefits of belonging to PICPA?

PICPA provides information and resources that CPAs need to advance their careers and enhance the quality of service to their companies and clients.
Does PICPA offer insurance to their members?

PICPA has a relationship with Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. Insurance. For more information please call 800-952-4050 ext. 4765.
I am a member of the AICPA and PICPA, and have life insurance through Bollinger, do I have to continue membership in both organizations to keep my benefits?

No, but you will have a lowered premium if you belong to both organizations. Contact Bollinger Insurance Services at (800) 952-4050 for more information.
Does PICPA have a job posting service?

The PICPA Career Center contains employment listings, business opportunities, and an internship directory. Members have exclusive access to certain sections and can post open positions at a special member rate.
I am a PICPA member with a technical question. Who can I talk to about my question?

As a member of PICPA, you have access to our Peer-to-Peer Consultation Service or you can contact the Professional and Technical Team at (215) 496-9272.
How can I get involved in PICPA?

Joining a committee is one of the best ways to get involved and signing up is easy. PICPA's many volunteer committees and resource groups are devoted to determining members' needs, advancing professional issues, and enhancing the role of the CPA in the marketplace and community. PICPA Chapters provide a great way to get involved on a local level. Chapters host many events, both educational and social, that make for excellent opportunities to connect with your peers.
Can I access a membership directory?

As a member, PICPA helps you connect with your colleagues using the most up-to-date directories with complete contact information. You can search for a member, a firm, officers, committees, peer reviewer, internship opportunities and more.

When does my membership expire?

PICPA membership is valid May 1 to April 30. Annual dues billing is on or around May 1. Dues renewals are due June 1.
I am not a CPA. Can I join?

Membership is open to both CPAs and non-CPAs in the profession, as well as college students majoring in accounting or a related field.
I recently became certified; how do I update my membership status?

To update your membership status, we need your certificate number and the date it was issued. You can contact the Member Relations Team with this information at (215) 496-9272 or membership@picpa.org.
Will I receive a membership certificate?

PICPA issues membership certificates only to members who are certified CPAs. Certified members will receive their membership certificate within 6-8 weeks from acceptance of membership. Members who updated their status will receive their membership certificate within 6-8 weeks of notifying PICPA.
I used to be a member of PICPA, but I let my membership lapse. What do I have to do to be reinstated?

Welcome back! The process to be reinstated is simple. Complete the online application with your current information. Please note – members who were terminated for non-payment of dues will be charged a $50 reinstatement fee to the current dues rate and may be subject to additional sums due to the Institute at the time of his/her termination. Half year dues rates do not apply to previously terminated members. If you have further questions, contact the Member Relations Team at (215) 496-9272 or membership@picpa.org.
I haven't received my membership card this year. Does PICPA still issue them?

PICPA no longer issues annual membership cards. If you need written verification of your membership, please contact the Member Relations Team at (215) 496-9272 or e-mail membership@picpa.org.
Does the PICPA offer a retired rate?

Yes. The PICPA Bylaws state that any CPA Member or Nonresident CPA Member who is not engaged in the practice of public accounting or other employment and is not currently seeking employment may request transfer to Retired Membership. The annual dues rate for the Retired category is $80 for membership year 2018-2019. Email membership@picpa.org or call (215) 496-9272 to have your membership type updated.

I was terminated for non-payment of dues in the past, can I reinstate my membership?

Members who were terminated in the past may reinstate by paying a $50 reinstatement fee and renew at full year dues rates – half year rates do not apply. Complete an application online or download a PDF version. Applications may be e-mailed to membership@picpa.org. For applications paying with a check, please mail payments to:

If I resigned in good standing, does a reinstatement fee apply?

If you resigned in good standing a reinstatement fee does not apply. Contact the Member Relations Team at (215) 496-9272 or membership@picpa.org to verify if you resigned.
Are my dues paid for the current year?

Log into My Account to view your online profile or contact the Member Relations Team at (215) 496-9272 or membership@picpa.org.
What percent of my PICPA dues are not deductible for income tax purposes?

PICPA determined 6% of dues payments are not deductible for income tax purposes due to the allocation for lobbying expenses.
I am unable to make the dues payment this year. What are my options?

Contact the Member Relations Team at (215) 496-9272 or e-mail membership@picpa.org and we will be glad to walk you through your renewal options.

How can I update my membership information?

There are several ways to update your record. The simplest way is to log into My Account and click on Update Profile. You can also contact the Member Relations Team at (215) 496-9272 or e-mail membership@picpa.org.
I’m trying to change my company’s contact information and I’m experiencing difficulty. Why can’t I change it?

Changes to a company’s contact information can affect other records associated with that company. Please contact the Member Relations Team at (215) 496-9272 or e-mail membership@picpa.org to make changes to a firm or company record.
I have a new employer, how do I update this information?

Changes can be made to employment information by visiting My Account, contacting the Member Relations Team at (215) 496-9272 or e-mail membership@picpa.org.
How is my chapter assignment determined? Can I change it?

Your chapter is automatically assigned based on your company address zip code. Members do have the option to belong to a different chapter if so desired. If you would like to change your preferred chapter assignment, contact the Member Relations Team at (215) 496-9272 or e-mail membership@picpa.org.
