This month, young professional CPAs from across Pennsylvania participated in our annual IMPACT Summit. Attendees explored how effective mentorship can accelerate personal and career development, gained insights into the power of strong communication, and learned to leverage their unique strengths to deliver presentations with authenticity and credibility. This month, we brought together CPAs, attorneys, financial professionals, insurance professionals, and more for our annual Cross-Professions Networking Nights. Our goal is niche networking with a purpose. Attendees had the opportunity to build their network, share strategies and experiences, and cultivate connections. We hope to see you next year!
In October and November, the Pennsylvania CPA Foundation hosted Accounting Career Day events at King's College, Robert Morris University, Elizabethtown College, and Immaculata University. These programs brought hundreds of high school students onto campuses to hear from CPAs about the field of accounting. The "state of the union" information regarding the PICPA and the industry as a whole was very interesting. The emphasis on the soft skills important for success was very telling, and the exercises were very enjoyable.
This event has given me a different perspective on the field of accounting, and its room for growth as a career.
