The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (DPW) released the 2014 HealthChoices audit guide on Feb. 7, 2014. The guide was revised through a joint workgroup that consisted of the Office of the Budget, Bureau of Audits (BOA), the DPW, and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).
Based on the previous success of the PICPA and Department of Community and Economic Development working group, BOA reached out to the PICPA for input on this project as well. Through the collaborative effort, the
HealthChoices audit guide has undergone a thorough review.
It is important that PICPA members remain engaged in the standards-setting process. You can find out more about the process in my recent podcast on PICPA Conversations. If you have questions about the new guide, or suggestions on improvements, please reach out to Allison Henry, CPA, PICPA vice president of technical and professional standards, at
