The IT
Assurance Committee serves as an advocate for the PICPA members in the IT
Assurance community. The overall
objective of the committee is to address the evolving technology needs within
the IT assurance function, promote the opportunity for members and student
affiliates to develop new skills and service lines around the CITP credential,
and provide new training options for members in business and industry. In
addition, many members of the Committee find great value in the networking
opportunities, discussing practice issues, and soliciting ideas from other
members.
The Committee
also includes four subcommittees that offer numerous opportunities for
participation.
•Emerging
Issues –This technically oriented subcommittee monitors emerging trends,
technical issues, and regulatory changes.
The subcommittee uses this to provide information and outreach to the
PICPA membership, and inform the committee of important issues.
•Education
outreach - This subcommittee works to meet the education needs of the PICPA
membership related to information technology auditing. The subcommittee plans a
conference, and identifies topics and speakers for webinars and other
educational opportunities.
•CITP
Outreach – This subcommittee serves as a PICPA champion for the CITP credential.
The subcommittee works with the AICPA CITP committee and PICPA marketing to
reach out to the membership to inform them of the unique value that the CPA
provides within the IT auditing community and to encourage members to become
credential holders.
