Didn’t Renew Your CPA License by Dec. 31, 2017?

By Meg Killian, PICPA's Vice President of Member Relations

Whether you forgot to renew your license or didn’t meet all the requirements to do so, there are still ways that you can remain compliant with Pennsylvania CPA laws and regulations.

If you missed the Dec. 31 deadline but did complete all the professional education requirements, you can still renew through the end of January with a small additional fee.

If you didn’t renew your license or complete your professional education, then your license is considered expired unless you requested to put it on inactive status. If you didn’t complete your CPE and renewed anyway, there can be serious implications if you don’t take immediate action. Under both of these scenarios you are no longer allowed to hold yourself out as a certified public accountant.
